Review: Bubly Strawberry

Bubly, one of the giants of the sparkling water industry, has put out many different flavors over the years. The one flavor that sticks out in my mind is their strawberry though. Strawberries are such a unique combination of sour and sweet that you have to nail a very specific flavor to get it right. I think Bubly really knocked it out of the park with this one.

Flavor Intensity

At the start, you can certainly taste the strawberry flavor very distinctly. However, it quickly mellows out and starts to fade into the background. I’m left with the impression of strawberry flavor for 20-30 seconds afterwards, so while the flavor is not extremely strong, it lingers for a long time.

Score: 7.8/10

Flavor Accuracy

This tastes like a strawberry at a particular ripeness level. You get the sweet and fruity flavor without any of the accompanying sourness. While I really enjoy the sweetness, a little bit of sourness would have rounded out the flavor more.

Score 7.8/10

Bubbles

Like the flavor Intensity, the bubbles are not the strongest or most plentiful. The sensation lingers for quite a while afterwards though. If you really enjoy the sensation of carbonation, I think this drink is for you.

Score: 7.7/10

Overall

Strawberry Bubly may be my favorite of their offerings. The distinct strawberry sweetness is very fun and refreshing. It tastes like a very sweet strawberry and is one that I will certainly be reaching for again!
